South Leeward Conference

Radio Series “This We Believe”

On Monday, January 13, the administration of the South Leeward Conference launched the Radio Program “This We Believe.”  This We Believe is an interactive program designed to explain, educate and inform both members and non-members on the beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and our position on social issues.  Join us on Second Advent Radio 101.5 FM this and every Monday evening from 6:30 to 7:30, and listen as a panel of administrators, directors and pastors discuss and then respond to your questions.  You may also join on Facebook live @ThisWeBelieveLive.  

Personal Ministries

All Personal Ministries leaders, assistant Personal Ministries leaders and Personal Ministries secretaries who have been elected to serve in 2020, are invited to a lay evangelism forum. At this session, we will also have  the elections of officers who will comprise the Lay Preachers’ Federation. The forum will be held on Sunday, December 15, from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the South Leeward Conference office. Light refreshments will be served.

Second Advent Radio Ministries

The Second Advent Radio Ministries will be celebrating its 11th year anniversary on Sabbath, February 8, 2020. As a result, a special offering will be collected to help with the operations of our radio station. Get on board! Spread the word! Jesus is coming again!


I-Connect Initiative  

I-Connect 2020, Antigua, is coming! Calling all members 13 – 40 years of age to sign up to be an I-Connect ambassador today.


I-Connect is a Stewardship initiative that challenges youth to practice proper stewardship principles by identifying where they fit.  We are looking for I-Connect ambassadors in each of the six areas, I-Pray, I-Praise, I-Proclaim, I-Witness, I-Serve I-Give. If you are 13 – 40 years of age call the Conference or call or WhatsApp 776-0524 for more information. You may also contact your church Stewardship leader.

Health Ministries

We cannot take our health for granted. “Lifestyle Matters” is the theme for the Health Ministries department this year, 2020.  Members are reminded that walking is still the best exercise. One of the goals from the strategic plan of the Conference is to encourage exercise classes/teams in all our congregations. Get active and let us keep moving.  Your health leader will encourage you to join your church’s exercise plan. Remember, “Lifestyle Matters”.

Sabbath School

Sabbath School personnel are asked to note that the date for the certification of Sabbath School teachers has been changed to February 9, 2020. All teachers, assistant teachers and those desirous of becoming teachers in Sabbath School are asked to begin to register at the South Leeward Conference office.

Religious Liberty

Join the South Leeward Conference’s Religious Liberty department as they host the AY program at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in St. John’s and launch the Antigua/Montserrat Seventh-day Adventist Lawyers’ Association.  Come and be a part of an intriguing discussion on various religious liberty issues.  Time: 4 p.m. this afternoon at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in St. John’s.    

Community Services

All Community Services leaders who have been elected to serve in 2020, are invited to a Community Services forum to be held on Sunday, January 19, 2020, from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the South Leeward Conference office. Light refreshments will be served.

Special Needs/Adventist Possibility Ministries

Adventist Possibility Ministries Summit

The Adventist Possibility Summit takes place in Antigua from February 20-22, 2020. Registration for this summit will begin early January, 2020. 

Youth Ministries

Advent Youth leaders’ council meeting is being hosted on Thursday, January 23 at the St. John’s Welfare Centre – 5 pm.  All AY Leaders and Assistant AY leaders, AY Executive members and Sponsors are asked to attend the year’s first council meeting.  There are a number of updates that must be shared. Please be present to received and share as we build a stronger  Advent Youth ministry.


Advent Youth Sports Evangelism presents three nights of awesome volley ball action on January 25, February 01 and February 08 at the YMCA. These activities begin at 7 p.m. nightly.

Come on out and enjoy the fellowship and games as Advent Youth Sports Evangelism brings its first events of the year to Antigua.

Prison Ministries

All Prison Ministries team members and persons who are interested in serving in the area of Prison Ministries are invited to an important training session on Friday, January 31, from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. The training will be held at the Seventh-day Adventist School’s auditorium.


The Antigua constituency is asked to note that the Early Childhood Development Center preschool and day care has relocated to its new building just above the South Leeward Conference office on American Road.  The opening took place on Monday, January 6, 2020.   There is still space for a limited number of students.  Apply today.  


There will be a meeting with all Children’s Ministries leaders and education secretaries on Thursday, January 23 at 5:00 p.m. at the Early Childhood Development Centre close to the Conference office. Please make every effort to attend.

All persons with outstanding monies and tickets for the 268 SDA Children’s Choir concerts are asked to remit monies and or tickets to Mrs Idona George, Cindy Greenaway at the South Leeward Conference office or the Adventist Book Centre as soon as possible.
